Monday, August 4th, 2020 The Central Statistics Agency of North Sulawesi Province released several strategic indicators, namely the Development of the Consumer Price Index / Inflation of the City of Manado in July 2020, the Development of North Sulawesi Farmers Exchange Rates July 2020, the Development and Export of North Sulawesi in June 2020, the Development of Sulawesi Tourism North June June 2020, North Sulawesi Sea and Air Transport Development in June 2020, and North Sulawesi Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) 2019. This time, the statistical news release was delivered by Dr. Ateng Hartono, SE, M.Si as the head of North Sulawesi Province BPS.
July 2020 Manado City experienced a deflation of 0.30 percent due to a decrease in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 104.83 in June 2020 to 104.52 in July2020. Of the eleven expenditure groups in the city of Manado, a decrease in the index occurred in the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.07 percent, the equipment, equipment and household maintenance group by 0.34 percent, the recreation, sports and culture group by 0.13 percent, the group clothing and footwear by 0.03 percent and the education group by 0.01 percent. The expenditure group that experienced an increase in index was the personal care and other services group by 0,48 percent and the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0,05 percent. The health group, transportation group and information group, transportation and financial services did not change.
Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) in North Sulawesi in July rose1.66 percent to 98.12 compared to June which was still 96.52. The improvement in the value of FTT is caused by two sides, namely improving commodity prices produced by farmers and decreasing production costs and prices of household consumption goods.
The number of foreign tourists (tourists) who came to North Sulawesi through the entrance of the Sam Ratulangi airport in June 2020 as many as 267 people increased compared to May2020 (M-to-M). When compared to June 2019 it decreased by 96.80 percent (Y-on-Y). Foreign tourists are dominated by Chinese citizens as many as 264 people (98.88 percent), followed by Malaysia 3 people (1.12 percent).
The value of non-oil and gas exports in North Sulawesi in June2020 was recorded at US $ 68.32 million while imports were valued at US $ 17.07 million. The largest non-oil and gas export commodity in June 2020 remained occupied by animal / vegetable fats and oils (HS 15), valued at US $ 29.76 million (43.56% of total exports), while the largest import commodity was Mineral Fuels (HS 27) , valued at US $ 12.73 million (74.57% of total imports). The largest destination country for non-oil and gas exports in North Sulawesi in June 2020 was the United States of US $ 17.07 million (24.99% of total exports). Singapore is the largest supplier country in June 2020 of US $ 7.84 million (45.91% of total imports).
The number of domestic sea transport passengers departing / embarking in June 2020 increased by 468.08 percent compared to May 2020, from 3,481 people to 19,775 people. Passenger arrivals / debarkation also rose by 288.88 percent, from 5,000 people to 19,444 people. the number of domestic air transport passengers who arrived in June2020 rose to 1,205.59 compared to May 2020, from 680 people in May 2020 to 8,878 people, while departing passengers also experienced an increase of 99.05.05 percent from 821 people in May 2020 to 9,015 people in May 2020. For International Air Passenger who came in June 2020 increased 100 percent compared to May 2020 to 261 people.
The Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) is a composite indicator that shows the level of democratic development in Indonesia. The level of achievement is measured based on the implementation and development of 3 aspects, 11 variables, and 28 indicators of democracy. The value of the Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) 2019 in North Sulawesi Province reached 77.08 on a scale of 0 to 100, down 0.69 points compared to the value of the 2018 IDI which amounted to 77.77. The achievements of Indonesia's democracy are still in the "medium" category.
