Statistics Official News Release - January 4th 2021

Today, Monday, January 4, 2021, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of North Sulawesi Province released several strategic data on inflation developments and other strategic data. The following is a summary of the data:

A. DEVELOPMENT OF CONSUMER PRICE INDEX / INFLATION DECEMBER 2020
• The city of Manado in December 2020 experienced inflation of 0.47 percent, calendar year deflation of 0.18 percent and year on year inflation of minus 0.18 percent.
• Inflation in Manado City in December 2020 was due to an increase in the index occurring in the equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance group by 1.61 percent, the transportation group by 1.22 percent, the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.80 percent, the group recreation, sports and culture by 0.55 percent, the clothing and footwear group by 0.13 percent and the food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 0.05 percent. One expenditure group that experienced a decrease in index was the personal care and other services group by 0.10 percent. And the four expenditure groups that did not change were the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group, the health group, the information, communication and financial services group and the education group.
• The largest contributor to inflation in Manado City in December 2020 was skipjack / scales at 0.1217 percent, while the largest contributor to deflation was tomatoes at 0.0804 percent.

B. DEVELOPMENT OF FARMER EXCHANGE VALUE DECEMBER 2020
• Farmers Exchange Rate (NTP) in North Sulawesi in December was 102.11 or increased by 1.35 percent compared to November which was still 100.76. The increase in the NTP value was due to the improvement in the Index received by farmers, which increased by 1.10 percent, while the Index paid by farmers decreased by 0.24 percent.
• NTP during the 2020 calendar year has increased by 3.63 percent, the same value occurred in YoY (year to year).
• The exchange rate for agricultural household businesses (NTUP) increased by 0.98 percent, from a value of 101.52 in November to 102.51 in December.
• In rural areas there is a deflation of 0.37 percent. Deflation only occurred in the Food, Beverages and Tobacco category which reached 0.65 percent, while other expenditure groups experienced inflation with varying values.

C. TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN NORTH SULAWESI IN NOVEMBER 2020
• The number of international tourists (tourists) who came to North Sulawesi through the entrance to Sam Ratulangi airport in November 2020 was 1,582 people, decreased compared to October 2020 (M-to-M). When compared to November 2019, it decreased by 82.92 percent (Y-on-Y).
• Foreign tourists are dominated by Chinese citizens as many as 1,577 people (99.68 percent) and Others 5 people (0.32 percent).
• Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of star hotels in North Sulawesi in November 2020 reached 51.48 percent, decreasing 0.77 points (1.47 percent) compared to the ROR for October 2020 (52.25 percent).
• The average length of stay of guests (RLMT) of star hotels in November 2020 reached 1.66 days, decreased by 0.1 points compared to October 2020. Meanwhile, the average length of stay of foreign guests (RLMT) of star hotels in November 2020 reached 1, 63 days, an increase of 0.16 points compared to October 2020.

D. DEVELOPMENT OF NORTH SULAWESI TRANSPORTATION NOVEMBER 2020
• The number of domestic sea transport passengers departing / embarking in November 2020 decreased by 7.22 percent compared to October 2020, from 35,848 people to 33,260 people. Arriving passengers / debarkation also decreased by 8.37 percent, from 39,563 people to 36,250 people.
• The number of domestic air transport passengers arriving in November 2020 increased by 28.89 percent compared to October 2020, from 33,099 people to 42,991 people, while domestic air passengers departing also experienced an increase of 19.72 percent from 34,771 people in October 2020 to 41,627 people in November 2020.

E. DEVELOPMENT OF EXPORT AND IMPORT IN NORTH SULAWESI IN NOVEMBER 2020 (MSH BLM MSK)
• North Sulawesi's non-oil and gas export value in November 2020 was recorded at US $ 51.70 million while imports were valued at US $ 6.49 million.
• The largest non-oil and gas export commodities in November 2020 were still dominated by Animal / Vegetable Fats and Oils (HS 15), valued at US $ 24.07 million (46.55% of total exports), while the largest imported commodities were Machinery / Mechanical Aircraft. (HS 84), worth US $ 3.39 million (52.17% of total imports).
• North Sulawesi's largest non-oil and gas export destination country in November 2020 was China, amounting to US $ 13.11 million (25.36% of total exports). China became the largest supplier country in November 2020 amounting to US $ 3.52 million (54.29% of total imports).

F. TRADE DISTRIBUTION PATTERNS OF STRATEGIC COMMODITIES NORTH SULAWESI PROVINCE, 2019
