Abstract

The city of Manado in August 2018 experienced a deflation of 0.88 percent, calendar year inflation of 1.90 percent and year-on-year inflation of 1.20 percent.

The deflation of the city of Manado in August 2018 was due to a decrease in the index in the food expenditure group by 3.80 percent and clothing expenditure group by 0.03 percent. The expenditure groups that experienced an increase were transport, communication and financial services by 0.32 percent, the education, recreation and sports group by 0.01 percent, and the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0.01 percent. Whereas processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco and health groups did not change.
