Abstract

Of the 90 cities monitored by the national CPI, as many as 88 (eighty eight) cities experienced inflation and 2 (two) cities experienced deflation, with the highest inflation occurring in Bukittinggi at 1.87 percent and the lowest in Merauke at 0.07 percent. The highest deflation occurred in Manokwari City at 0.64 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in Timika City at 0.59 percent. Manado City ranks 7th in inflation on Sulawesi Island and ranks 51st nationally.

In September 2022, Manado City experienced inflation of 1.03 percent due to an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 111.50 in August 2022 to 112.65 in September 2022. Of the eleven competition groups in Manado City, five expenditure groups experienced an increase in the index, namely the transportation group by 9.69 percent; personal care and other services group by 0.28 percent; health group by 0.18 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.13 percent and food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.10 percent. a total of four expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index, namely: recreation, sports and culture by 2.57 percent; food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.74 percent; the information, communication and financial services group was 0.03 percent and the clothing and footwear group was 0.01 percent, while the other two groups, namely the housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups and the education group tended to stagnate. Conditions in September 2022 Manado City experienced calendar year inflation of 3.77 percent and year on year inflation of 5.24 percent.

The biggest contributor to inflation in September 2022 was gasoline at 0.9060 percent, while the biggest contributor to deflation was shallots at 0.1859 percent.
