Thursday (5/11), the Central Statistics Agency of North Sulawesi Province released several strategic indicators, namely Economic Growth in Quarter III-2020 and State of Labor in North Sulawesi in August 2020 which were conducted online. Here's a summary:
GROSS REGIONAL DOMESTIC PRODUCTS (GRDP) QUARTER III-2020
North Sulawesi's economy based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB) at the current price of the third quarter of 2020 reached Rp. 33.33 trillion and at constant 2010 prices reached Rp.
The economy of North Sulawesi in Quarter III-2020 contracted 1.83 percent (y-on-y). From the production side, growth was driven by most business fields, with the highest growth being achieved by the Information and Communication Business Field, which grew by 9.95 percent.
LABOR STATE OF THE PROVINCE OF NORTH SULAWESI IN AUGUST 2020
The number of North Sulawesi's workforce in August 2020 was recorded at 1.22 million and 1.13 million people were employed.
The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) was 63.42 percent, down 0.52 points from August 2019.
The percentage of the population working in informal activities was 60.46 percent, the percentage increased by 5.65 points compared to August 2019.
The structure of the working population according to employment in August 2020 is still dominated by three main jobs, namely Agriculture by 29.75 percent, Trade by 17.48 percent and Manufacturing Industry by 8.58 percent.
Open Unemployment Rate 7.37 percent, an increase of 1.36 points when compared to August 2019.
Of the 1.16 million people who work, 11.05 percent are included in the underemployment category and 24.33 percent are part-time workers, and 64.62 percent full-time workers.
