Today, Monday, March 1, 2021, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of North Sulawesi Province released several strategic data on inflation developments and other strategic data. The following is a summary of the data:
A. DEVELOPMENT OF CONSUMER PRICE INDEX / INFLATION FEBRUARY 2021
• The city of Manado in February 2021 experienced inflation of 0.04 percent, calendar year inflation of 0.61 percent and year on year inflation of 0.47 percent.
• Inflation in Manado City in February 2021 was due to an increase in the index occurring in the equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance group by 1.15 percent and the transportation group by 1.00 percent. Three groups that experienced a decrease in the index, namely the personal care and other services group by 0.43 percent, the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.35 percent and the clothing and footwear group by 0.08 percent. The groups that did not change were the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group, the health group, the information, communication and financial services group, the recreation, sports and culture group, the education group and the food and beverage / restaurant supply group. The city of Manado, in February 2021 experienced calendar year inflation of 0.61 percent and year on year inflation of 0.47 percent.
• The largest contributor to inflation in Manado City in February 2021 was air transportation by 0.1175 percent, while the biggest contributor to deflation was malalugis / sohiri fish by 0.1263 percent.
B. DEVELOPMENT OF FARMER EXCHANGE VALUE, FEBRUARY 2021
• Farmers Exchange Rate (NTP) in North Sulawesi in February was 101.62 or decreased 0.63 percent compared to January 102.26. The cause of the decline in NTP in a row, in terms of the Index received by farmers, decreased by 0.26 percent and the Index paid by farmers increased by 0.37 percent.
• Changes in NTP during calendar year 2021 still show a decrease of 0.49 percent, while YoY (year on year) increases by 2.54 percent.
• The Exchange Rate of Agricultural Household Enterprises (NTUP) also fell more deeply than the NTP, namely by 0.99 percent, from a value of 103.65 in January to 102.62 in February.
• In rural areas there is an inflation of 0.27 percent. Inflation occurred in all expenditure groups except for the health group, which experienced a deflation of 0.09 percent.C. DEVELOPMENT OF NORTH SULAWESI TRANSPORTATION, JANUARY 2021
• The number of domestic sea transport passengers departing / embarking in January 2021 decreased by 54.73 percent compared to December 2020, from 37,700 to 17,066 people. The arrival / debarkation passengers also decreased by 72.03 percent, from 48,063 people to 13,443 people.
• The number of domestic air transport passengers arriving in January 2021 decreased by 41.30 percent compared to December 2020, from 54,807 people to 32,174 people, while domestic air passengers departing also experienced a decrease of 10.01 percent from 46,248 people in December 2020 to 41,618 people in January 2021.
D. DEVELOPMENT OF EXPORT AND IMPORT IN NORTH SULAWESI IN JANUARY 2021
• North Sulawesi's non-oil and gas export value in January 2021 was recorded at US $ 94.28 million while imports were valued at US $ 5.91 million.
• The largest non-oil and gas export commodities in January 2021 were still dominated by Animal / Vegetable Fats and Oils (HS 15), valued at US $ 40.78 million (43.26% of total exports), while for the largest imported commodity was Mineral Fuels (HS 27 ), valued at US $ 1.86 million (31.53% of total imports).
• North Sulawesi's largest non-oil and gas export destination country in January 2021 was Singapore with US $ 27.35 million (29.01% of total exports). Meanwhile, Australia became the largest supplier country in January 2021 amounting to US $ 1.86 million (31.53% of total imports).
